Gung Hay Fat Choy!
Chinese New Year's always brings back memories of Grandma Yun's house on Union Street. After the endless circles around the block to find a parking space and the hike up and down the rolling hills, you walk into a warm house filled with love. As I imagine walking into the house, I am welcomed by the smell of frying oil from the pots on the roaring stove top, fresh batches of Grandma's Chinese delicacies (e.g. sticky rice, tay, gok doy, and more) sprawled out on the kitchen counters and table, and Grandma smiling and laughing while watching all her kids and grandkids fill her house. The day is filled with eating, laughing, and sneaking out into the backyard to climb through Grandma's garden. Although we've aged and our CNY celebrations have changed quite a bit, these memories of CNY are going to be cherished forever.:)
What are some of your favorite memories of CNY? Please share!
I hope your weekend is filled with lots of LOVE! Miss you all!
