Hope everyone had a safe and happy 1-1-11! Missed everyone around xmas time!
Since it's a new year I don't know how many of you made a resolution to be more fit/active. If so here is a link to registration for the uber fun Disney Marathons (that I would highly highly recommend.) You don't have to do a half, they also have a 5k which is much much shorter at around 4-5 miles? Lemme know if any of you sign up, I think it would be something fun whether we met up on race day or not.

Can't seem to post on this Yun Family Blog anymore, but wanted to put it out there while it's still relevant.
ReplyDeleteRemembering Grandma
It feels kind of surreal that we lay Grandma Yun to rest just this past Tuesday. Dennis and Stacie, thank you for a wonderful slideshow that reminded us of how great her life was! Thank you Tina, Jadine, and Jenica you ladies totally stepped up with guidance/leadership! Kristina, you also did a great job with sharing the Eulogy. I am sure all of our parents really loved and appreciated the grand kids working together during a time like this.
Hey, is anyone else having a hard time though getting back into the swing of things? Perhaps it's the early morning clouds or fog, but regardless things feel a little...different. Or, perhaps I am struggling with some feelings of residual guilt also since I did not get to know her in a more personal way. I am probably also disappointed that I didn't take the time to learn and communicate more in Chinese. To be clear here I am not looking for a pity party, nor looking to play the victim. I'm just simply trying to be transparent, and find out where these thoughts and feelings are coming from. Knowing she is there resting next to grandpa does bring about some sense of familiarity, formality, peace and closure. With all the mental health she suffered the last years of her life it felt like (to me) she was somewhat of a shell of who she really was. I guess before, in the back of my mind, I knew she was in the resting home, but now she really is gone and it is time to come to terms with her passing.
Ending on a real upbeat note though, look at more of these great grand kids starting to appear! May she live on through all of us and continue to do her and our parents proud! Sorry if I have become repetitive in my gratitude and/or pointing out the obvious, I think I may be an external processor. I might not be the best writer, but there is something about seeing things in text that brings me to a place of more resolution, peace, and comfort. May she rest in peace and be in a better place! Thank you Grandma Yun for all that you did for us! You will not be forgotten!!!
